5 must see gardens in British Columbia
The Stroll Garden in the Nitobe Memorial Garden, UBC Botanical Garden. One of the most authentic Japanese gardens in North America and one of the top five Japanese gardens outside of Japan.
The garden honours Dr Inazo Nitobe (1862-1933) an agriculturalist, scholar, philosopher and statesman who spent much of his life promoting trust and understanding between the United States and Japan.
Each element has been deliberately placed and is carefully maintained to reflect an idealized conception and symbolic representation of nature.

Today, we're celebrating the 400th anniversary of the birth of Nicholas Culpeper (1616-1654) apothecary, astrologer and scholar.
He dedicated himself to serving the sick, the poor and the powerless. His translation of the Pharmacopoeia (1618) of the College of Physicians into English in 1649, with the addition of the uses of all the plants and medicines it included was a milestone in the history of medicine in the UK.
